Living History Project
First piloted in 2005 to record stories of seniors in the community, this Grade 6 writing project, funded by ArtStarts, was recognized by BC Hydro as one of five in British Columbia as “an exemplary way to engage young people in the community through the arts” after its display at Vancouver’s ArtStarts Gallery. In 2008 we partnered with four schools in our district with financial support from New Horizons for Seniors federal funding. This program continued to serve as an exemplary presentation project for our Grade 6 students.
